Exam Question 1


Imagine you are Mrs Rhodes.

Write a letter to the government explaining the need for more immediate action.

In your letter you should include:
  • The evidence of the 'Beast'
  • A description of the 'Beast'
  • The likely consequences of allowing the 'Beast' to continue to roam the moors 
Base your letter on what you have read in Passage A. Address all the bullet points and be careful to use your own words.
 
Begin your letter:
 
'Dear Environmental Health Officer
I am writing to alert you to the serious concerns that all of us living on Bodmin Moor Have.'
 
A1:
  • No rabbits or foxes
  • Birds stop singing
  • Very little mess (unlike a dog)
  • Mating call
  • A captured video of the 'Beast'
A2:
  • Great yellow orbs
  • A foul scream
  • 3ft long
  • 18 inch tail
  • Pinky brown colour
A3:
  • Killing livestock
  • Ruining local farming buisnesses
  • Eventually could breed and overrun the moors
  • Harm to residents could occur
